Call for Papers for a session on “Citation Networks”
Vlado Batagelj and i are organizing a session on citation networks for sunbelt: the description follows: if you are interested in submitting an abstract, please sent it to:
Citation networks occur in many realms where documents cite other documents. Examples include academic articles citing other articles in many fields, citations between patents, and citations from Supreme Court decisions to earlier decisions. These networks are inherently temporal and can be genuinely acyclic or not. The latter can be transformed meaningfully to an acyclic form in several ways. Most often, citation networks are large. This session is designed to focus on studying citation networks, substance, presenting analyses of these networks, and exploring the methodological issues involved in analyzing them. Emphasis will be placed on newly developed methods for studying citation networks and how these methods lead to novel substantive insights. Given the temporal nature of citation networks, there are opportunities for studying change over time with attention on historical contexts as a substantive concern.
Submission will close on December 31 at 11:59:59 EST.
If you are interested in submitting an abstract, please sent it to:
